What’s all this about artificial intelligence?

In 2024, you basically couldn’t make it through the day without hearing terms like “A.I.”, “Artificial Intelligence” or “ChatGPT” being thrown around. It’s safe to say A.I. is everywhere! But what is it? What can it and can’t it do? Should we be scared?

These are the sorts of things Dr Matt Agnew will discuss in this session on A.I. and the ethics surrounding its development and use. Technology continues to advance at an accelerating rate, A.I. is no exception. To make sure it serves us safely, enriches our lives, and has a positive impact on humanity, we need to make sure we properly understand it, and identify the dangers that could result if we’re not careful in how we build it, and how we use it.
