Join us for a series of intimate dining experiences with acclaimed authors and journalists including Shaun Micallef, John Boyne, Louise Kennedy, Gail Jones, Inala Cooper and Simon Holmes à Court. You'll be given the opportunity to get up close and personal with the authors as they share their insights and stories while you enjoy a gastronomic dinner created by the Executive Chef of East End Cellars, Josh Lansley. The curated menu and wine pairings are drawn from South Australia's finest, supplemented by some of the world's best delicacies with foie gras and champagne.

Tripping Over Himself: Shaun Micallef's Career in Comedy

Join Shaun Micallef for dinner as he talks with Anne Pender about his thirty-year career as a sketch comedian, actor, writer and creator of hundreds of television extravaganzas. The Adelaide-born, one-time lawyer reflects on his work in comedy and its place in his life. But this is not just any conversation: it’s a culinary experience that will tantalise your taste buds and leave you wanting more. We will be showcasing the best of South Australian produce with a menu curated to perfection by East End Cellars' Executive Chef, Josh Lansley.
What is it about Ireland? with John Boyne & Louise Kennedy

Celebrate the power of nature, fine cuisine and Irish literature at this very special event with John Boyne, Ireland's most translated writer, and Louise Kennedy, an acclaimed short story writer whose 2022 debut novel was named a Best Book of the Year by The Washington Post. They'll be joined by facilitator Prof Patrick Flanery, Chair of Creative Writing at the University of Adelaide. East End Cellars' chefs will forage fresh ingredients from around the state for a delicious four-course dinner with complementary South Australian wines.
Women Writing Australia with Inala Cooper & Gail Jones

International Women's Day provides an opportunity for us to interrogate the role and rights of women in Australia and around the world. Gather with us for a night of literary celebration and culinary delights with novelist Gail Jones and Yawuru woman Inala Cooper, Director of Murrup Barak, the Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development at the University of Melbourne, as they discuss what it means to write about Australia from a female perspective. They'll be joined by facilitator Dr Maggie Tonkin, Senior Lecturer in Creative Arts & Literary Studies at the University of Adelaide. Each of the menu's five courses has been carefully curated to celebrate the contributions women make to the culinary industry.
Political Ecology with Simon Holmes à Court

Simon Holmes à Court, the millionaire founder of Climate 200, has thrown his support behind the 2022 'Teals' election campaign and a variety of progressive causes - integrity in government, gender equality and climate change. This conversation is an opportunity to hear Holmes à Court discuss how he perceives his place in the political ecology while enjoying a delicious menu curated by the chefs at East End Cellars.
